Build Me a Sanctuary

Rabbi David Wolpe points out, the paradox of mystery is that the more one knows, the more clearly one sees, the more impenetrable the mystery. And so, the greater our understanding of God, the more pronounced is our ignorance. “Let them build me a sanctuary that I may dwell in them” (Ex. 25:8) Which leaves us with the word BETOCHAM, “that I may dwell in them”. This is what the Hassidim call da’at d’veikut: the realization of the union that already exists between each one of us and The Divine. We just to open our eyes and our hearts a tiny bit more.
